What can the LINk do?
In order to carry out their activities, LINks have powers to:
- Enter and view specific types of premises where health and care services are provided;
- Ask for information and expect a response within a certain time (usually 20 working days);
- Make reports and recommendations and expect a response within a certain time;
- Refer matters to the local Overview and Scrutiny Committee and expect a response;
The LINk will be able to gather and put forward local people’s views not only about the services which are already on offer but also about gaps, and how new developments should take place.
