Which services can the LINk cover?

LINks are empowered to look at all publicly-funded health and social care services in an area, whether they are provided by the National Health Service, a local authority, social services department, a private company or a voluntary organisation (under contract to the local health service or the local authority). There are some exceptions in the case of children’s social care services, where other arrangements are already in place.

The Enfield LINk will look at a wide range of services, including

  • GP surgeries and clinics
  • Home care providers and residential and nursing homes
  • Hospital inpatient and outpatient services
  • Community mental health services
  • Physiotherapists
  • District nurses

It can also take up issues around preventing ill health and making it easier for people to live independently and with dignity at times when they need practical support such as personal assistants or adaptations in their homes.

The LINk can help to make sure that decision-makers understand how Enfield people of different ages, backgrounds and communities experience publicly - funded social care and health services.
